Spring has Sprung!

Monday, April 8

We had a good Easter with Ryan's family two weekends ago! Cameron got a small Easter basket from us that morning with a book and sidewalk chalk (daddy was not happy - he likes things to be neat and clean!) and was also spoiled by his auntie Amber and great auntie Rachel!

Every Easter Auntie Rachel puts on an Easter egg hint for the kiddos. This year because it was so chilly out, auntie had a clever idea and had the egg hunt was in her band classroom at the school! Cameron had fun finding yummy treats for Ryan and I :-) He did find some bubbles, which we will have lots of fun playing with outside!

Speaking of outside, Cameron would spend every waking moment outside if we would let him! He absolutely loves walking around exploring and getting dirty - typical boy! He is also obsessed with Ryan's truck that is sitting in the driveway! He sees it and days "da da da" over and over again. We're trying to get him to say "truck"! Sometimes he'll stand at the front window and just stare at the truck, babbling about something. Silly kid!

Cameron had his first full week of daycare last week (and its a good thing he did because Ryan started work today!!) and his first full day of the toddler classroom this past Friday! Over the past two weeks if drop him off in the infant room and about 9am, he would go spend the rest of his day in toddlers. Friday morning, I dropped him off in the toddler room and he was there all day! Whoa!! There were a few tears when I left him because I think he was a little confused about where he was, but the director emailed me shortly after I left and said that he was just fine a couple minutes after I left. His teachers are so nice and he absolutely loves the toddler playground outside!!! One day I picked him up and his pants were all black (from falling and playing on the rubber mats outside that the playground equipment sits on) and his shirt was full of food (they teach more independent eating and practice using silverware more now) - I'm sure this is how I'll pick him up from here on out: messy!!!

This past weekend we spent a lot of time outside as well. Went on a couple of wagon rides (another thing he LOVES), blew bubbles, sat on his picnic table that grandma Chris gave him for his birthday, and threw Manson the ball (Cameron had to throw it - his hands were icky and slimy afterwards but he loves it and Manson was happy with the attention!) So glad it's getting nice out so we aren't cooped up inside!

We also went swimming at the Becker Community Center this past Saturday with my friend Megan, her kiddos and her family. Cameron had such a blast being in the water - he was such a little fishie and squealed with delight as we threw the ball in front of us and then kicked and "swam" super fast!!

Other Cameron notes:

* LOVES watching "Wheel of Fortune" - we watch it just about every night before bed!
* He imitates more and more words! Over the last week he's said puppy, Mans (Manson) and keys. Also, I was reading Tom and Val's blog last night and looking at their ultrasound pictures and as I was telling Cameron about Baby Hubers, I swear he said "baby"!!!
* When we leave to go somewhere we put Manson in his kennel and give him a treat. Now Cameron is the one who always has to give him the treat! Manson is really gentle when he takes it from Cameron - it's quite cute :-)
* Had his 15 months check up last week - 24 lbs (55th percentile), 34 inches (95th percentile and head circumference was also in the 95th percentile. Yay!!
* Loves giving Manson hugs - we're teaching him NOT to kiss Manson - Cameron's kisses are wide open tongue kisses as he says "Mmmmmmmmm".
