As a parent, I didn't realize how hard it would be to digest and admit that I now have a toddler. I know I mentioned this in my post last month, too, but now toddler hood is REALLY here!!
Cameron transitions into the toddler classroom at school (aka: daycare) next week and he'll start to sleep on a cot for nap time. Also, they start to work on better table manners, drinking from a cup, brushing teeth, and using the potty. Those are all things adults do - not my baby!! And it's at that moment I realize that he has grown up way too fast and I will say those words the rest of my life (even though before I became a parent I hated it when other people said that too me!!!)
Other toddler hood signs: repeating what we say. Two new words from the last 24 hours: bear (after I told him to put his Montana bear back on the shelf when picking up his room) and car (when I told him I was going to start the car in this single digit weather on the second day of spring). We're really going to have to start watching what we say!!!!
Other signs of growing up:
* Talking on the phone (see picture below)
* Preferring to be with "the boys" vs. me
* Beer (see picture below but please don't report me as he didn't drink any!! Promise!!)
Signs I miss my baby and I'm becoming a sap:
* I wish I could pick him up and rock him every night before/during/after bedtime/he's already asleep.
* I'm becoming emotional again when I drop him off at school in the mornings. This toddler transition will be harder for me, I think!!!
We. Love. Our. Little. Toddler!!!
