With all the national tragedies happening now days, it makes me think more about how the world will be as Cameron grows older. What will things be like when he's 18 and graduating from high school? What national tragedies will happen between now and then and how will it affect our country? Our way of thinking? How we respond to tragedies and defend ourselves? Will Cameron ever be involved in scary situations at school or while he's in public? If so, how do we give him constant love and direction to guide him? He will at some point ask questions about future tragedies and we have to be ready to be honest and explain things to him.
Matthew 6:34 is a verse that as a parent, I recite more and more in my head: "Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough trouble of it's own." It reminds me that I could sit and trouble myself thinking of all the "what if's" and "how will he be affected" but worrying would be a waste of our time because God knows what will happen and we need to trust in Him that He will take care of us.
I hope when Cameron reads this as he gets older he understands that from day 1 of us knowing we were even expecting him and he was growing in my tummy, we want the best for him and we love him so much! We always want him to know that as his parents, we will always be there for him and want him to make wise decisions. And above all, that his faith in God is so strong that he will follows the right ways. And if he makes wrong decisions (which he will!) in life, he course corrects and always come back to his faith in God.
