Early Potty Trainer?! Lets Hope So!!

Cameron never ceases to amaze me...

Last weekend at his cousin Elijah's birthday party, he asked to go potty twice and went both times!! Then on Monday night after bath, he asked to go potty again and was so excited because he tooted in the potty. He was so excited he kept saying, "Mommy I toot potty!" And once again, the same thing happened last night - he asked to go potty and actually went AND tooted in it again, thinking that he pooped in it :) He was so incredibly proud of himself that he couldn't stop smiling and clapping, saying "Mommy/Daddy I toot pots!" or "Mommy/Daddy I pee pots!" I'm hoping we're onto something with this, but am cautious to not get my hopes up as I've heard it does take boys a little longer to potty train :)

Other Cameron phrases:
Oh shoot!
Mommy awesome!
Where Daddy? Daddy work twuck?
Manny no no!
Mommy stinky
Watch, Mommy, watch (as he does something naughty, of course...)

He's getting much better with his ABC's and we're also working with him on saying his name. It's so funny to hear him say Cameron Ryan Manke. He does a pretty good job! Also, now that he knows how to say his first name, he says it ALOT!! He refers to himself in the third person quite a bit - "Cameron eat" or "Cameron sleepy".

He also continues to kiss my tummy and talk to baby girl. At night when reading stories before bed, he will often times lay his head on my tummy still and use her as a pillow. It's absolutely adorable and makes me imagine to the days when we will be cuddling our two kiddos :))

This little girl is causing me quite the discomfort already - lower back pain, hip pain, feeling out of breath, still tired all the time, waking up to pee multiple times at night. We have our next appointment next Thursday and I'm excited to hear her heartbeat again :)
Typical boy!

Oooh scary!!

Baby GIRL!

We found out on September 13 that baby is a GIRL!! We are very excited and incredibly surprised! We both thought that we were having another boy, so we were both excited!! Not that we wouldn't have been excited for a boy, but one of each is great! Thinking of taking care of a girl sounds so weird to me - its going to be an adjustment!

Ryan had to work the day of our ultrasound, so Auntie Jill came with. Ryan did not want us to find out during the ultrasound - so I asked the tech to get a good picture and put it in an envelope. I watched the ultrasound intensely the entire time trying to figure out the gender, but the tech was good and hid it well! After my appointment, Jill and I grabbed breakfast at Key's Cafe - Ryan called me back right as we sat down and couldn't wait, so told me to open it. It was quite fun opening it!!!

I didn't feel well until my 18th week and am so glad that nausea stint is behind me... At least I never got truly sick, but it's so nice being able to enjoy food again! The exhaustion hasn't left, but I chalk it up to a stressful job and a super busy toddler! Also, work for Ryan really picked up the last two months, so it was quite a bit of "single parenting" for me and feeling accomplished just by doing laundry and dishes before I'd crash at 8 or 9 each night.

Cameron is still loving going to Ms Bridget's each day for daycare and his development continues to amaze me. Each night, he asks about each member of Bridget's family, including the dogs. He loves all of them!!

* Moved into his big boy room and bed! The transition went really well, surprisingly, and he does so well with it all. He loves his new race car bed!! Now if only he'd start using the potty...
* He can sing his "ABCs" through the letter G by himself. He hums the rest of the tune and pops in letters here and there as he hums... "P"... "S"... "Z"... "Now I know ABCs... With me! YAY" as he claps because he's so proud of himself!!
* Loves to sing. Row, Row, Row your boat; Wheels on the Bus; Twinkle, Twinkle; Ring around the Rosie's; Freeischaca (or however you spell it...); and the Itsy Bitsy Spider just to name a few... It's so cute when he hums and he knows a few words from each song which makes it even cuter!
* Loves to still kiss Baby Girl on my tummy. Last week when we were reading stories before bedtime, he laid his head on my belly as I read. I was almost in tears he was being so sweet.
* Is quite the big helper - is pretty good at cleaning up his toys (with help of course) as we sing the Clean Up song. Also loves to help unload the dishwasher. The only downfall is that sometimes he'll open the dishwasher when they are dirty and start to pull them out, thinking he's a big help. Also enjoys helping vacuum and using the "boom" - aka: broom.
* Bosses Manson around: Go away Manny or No! No! Manny!! are common phrases he tells him. But then it usually results in an open mouth kiss on Manson - still trying to teach him we pet puppies and they don't need kisses, but it hasn't stuck yet. Oh well, at least they get along well!!
* He is such a lover - gives out LOTS of hugs and kisses to everyone (including the other daycare parents!). The game at night before bed is I ask for a kiss, he says No, but then I tickle him while I "steal" kisses which makes him erupt in his cute toddler giggles. After that, he gives me big hugs and lots of kisses that he initiates.
* His vocabulary just floors us. I think the amount of words he knows has quadrupled over the last two months. He repeats everything you say - including  Oh Shoot!! when I forget something or do something wrong. You really have to watch what you say!!! He will also say words out of the blue that I didn't even know he knew, like bicycle or flowers or being able to describe Ryan's truck as "red"! He mostly talks in 2 to 3 word sentences and can carry on a conversation if you can interpret correctly. He still speaks LOTS  of cute jibber jab!
* He got ALL the rest of his teeth this summer - thank goodness!! The crankiness started around Memorial Day and his last two top eye teeth finally poked through a couple weeks ago. You can tell he's still getting used to his teeth because he still bites on his tongue and fingers a lot. All that's left is two year molars! I will not miss that intense and loooong teething phase!

Other Summer highlights:
* Going to Como Zoo with Auntie Amber
* Swimming in Auntie Jill and Uncle Patrick's pool
* Sleepovers at Papa and Nama's when Ryan worked overnights on the weekends. Also when I traveled to Chicago for work and Ryan was working
* Running around with just a swim diaper on, splashing around and playing in his crab pool. This was a common thing during the hot evenings when we needed a cool down - he would even help fill the pool!
* Play dates with Liana and Nolan now that the Selly's have moved to Becker!!
* Going for walks with our new neighbor, Becky, and her son Colin. Cameron sees the stroller when we get home from work/daycare and asks "Mommy, I walk Becky?", meaning he wants to go for a walk with Becky :)
* Taking the train downtown with me and going to back up daycare. He did so well on the "choo choo" and did amazing at the new daycare for the two days he was there! I was a nervous wreck wondering how it'd go!! A daddy was dropping off his girl, about the same age as Cameron, and as I was signing him in and he was supposed to be watching the fishes in the fish tank, he walks over to the little girl, says "Hi!" and proceeds to give her a hug and a kiss!! She stepped back and put her arm out. Oh boy, if this is a sign of things to come!!!
* Going to the Sherburne County Fair. His favorite part was the horse barn. "Neigh, Mommy, Neigh!!" he'd say at every horse we passed.
* Going to his first parade! He got really good at getting me candy :)

He still continues to be a crazy, outgoing toddler with TONS of personality but is a curious handful at the same time - I wouldn't want it any other way!!

Our Growing Family

I have LOTS to catch up on - I haven't blogged in almost two months!!

The biggest update for our family is that our family is growing! We are super excited for the little one growing in my tummy and expected to arrive sometime around January 25, 2014!!

We are 13 weeks today and this mommy is excited for the second trimester, which starts next week. I'm hoping that this extreme exhaustion will get better and that this nausea will also start to pass. Overall, I can't complain too much - I didn't get truly sick like I did the hand full of times with Cameron and I know it could always be a lot worse! I don't remember feeling this exhausted as I did with Cameron - I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that now I'm chasing around an 18 month old and also have a different job than I did during my first pregnancy (I was working in Otsego, 2 miles from our house vs. now commuting to Minneapolis and getting out the door every day at 6am!). So far no much food aversions, except for hamburger for a couple of weeks, and also no foods that I HAVE to have (although I will also have a sweet tooth and will always eat more sweets :)) We had our first ultrasound at my 6 week appointment to confirm the due date and then we got to hear the heartbeat at our 11 week appointment. The next appointment is on Aug. 12 and then on Sept. 9 we will find out the gender!

Other baby news for our greater family: Jill and Patrick had Anna Josephine on June 8 and Tom and Val had Blake Stephen on June 28. So much fun baby news for our growing Hubers family!

Our little stinker LOVES baby's - in fact, he loves pulling up my shirt and giving baby kisses. But beware, he thinks that EVERYONE has a baby in their tummy, so if he tries to pull up your shirt and is saying "baby", consider this your fair warning! He also loves saying "Baby Anna" and "Baby Bke" (he can't quite say Blake yet :)) One morning a couple weeks ago, I got him up for daycare and his first words that morning were "Baby Anna???". It was super cute :)

Cameron is growing leaps and bounds! We had his 18 month check up on July 3. He was 28 lbs 8 oz (55th percentile), 35 inches long (95th percentile) and his head circumference was in the 90th percentile!! His vocabulary is also growing immensely! Words these days include please, outside, no no, yeah, Manny (Manson), tk (truck aka: Ryan's semi). Total, I think he knows about 20 to 30 words. He's also getting really good at putting two words together: Daddy's tk, daddy/mommy go (when he wants to bring us somewhere or move us from some place), daddy/mommy car, and the other favorite: "no no Manny". He is such a riot and it's so much fun to start having a conversation with him these days. We're also getting better at giving him choices/options for things to get him better at using words and showing us what he wants.

I really think that part of how his vocabulary is growing so much is because of our switch from the daycare center to Ms. Bridget's in home daycare. At Bridget's, he's mixed with more age groups throughout the day and he's an absolute sponge to everything they say and do! Not that the center wasn't a good place for him, of course, but I think that having that age mix has been really good for him. He loves going to Ms. Bridget's house and rarely cries any more when I drop him off in the morning - which makes me feel really good because it was very common for him to even cry still when I dropped him off at the center, even though he loved it there, too! Ms. Bridget also thinks she will have a spot next spring for Baby #2, which I'm excited about!

This summer has been going fast- I can't believe it's already the end of July!! Ryan has been working quite a bit, but not as much as in summers past, which is okay with me!! He has been a tremendous help while I've been tired and sick with this pregnancy and Cameron absolutely LOVES his daddy :)) We've been able to spend lots of time with family (which is always a top priority for us!), enjoyed celebrating Ryan's 29th birthday on June 28 (which now he shares with Baby Blake!!!), spent the 4th of July swimming at Auntie Jill and Uncle Patrick's pool with our family, golfing in the annual CCS fundraiser, and going to Cameron's first parade in Elk River!  We've also been trying to play outside as much as possible before the mosquitoes eat us alive (they've been terrible this year!!!)

Happy Birthday, Daddy!!
